Our Ingredient Standards
At Her Holistic Store, every product is carefully researched and personally tested before it takes a place on our shelves.
We know that standing in a shopping aisle trying to decode an ingredient list can feel confusing and overwhelming. Most people don’t have the time to research every ingredient and honestly, you shouldn’t need to.
That’s where we come in. Our goal is to take the confusion out of label reading and create a space where you can shop without second guessing whether a product is safe or not.
Nothing is stocked unless we would confidently use it ourselves and recommend it to our loved ones.
What We Look For
When choosing the brands and products we stock, we look for formulas that support your health rather than work against it.
We prioritise products that are:
• Made with certified organic or organically grown ingredients
• Created by Australian-owned or Australian-sourced brands where possible
• Free from known hormone-disrupting chemicals
• Produced with transparency and integrity
• Cruelty-free and not tested on animals
Every product is reviewed through the lens of ingredient safety, hormone health, gut health and overall wellbeing.
Ingredients We Choose Not To Include
There are certain ingredients we will not carry at HHS:
Synthetic fragrance (parfum)
Parabens (methylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben)
Phthalates
Aluminium
Triclosan
SLS and SLES (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate / Sodium Laureth Sulfate)
Formaldehyde-releasing preservatives
Oxybenzone and other chemical sunscreen filters
Chlorine bleaching by-products
These chemicals are often considered “safe in small amounts”. However, when used across multiple products day after day, this repeated exposure can add up over time. This is why we choose to avoid them altogether.
Beyond the Ingredient List
Ingredients are incredibly important, but they’re not the only thing we consider when choosing what to stock.
We also look closely at:
• Brand transparency and values
• Ingredient sourcing and manufacturing practices
• Environmental responsibility
• A genuine commitment to honesty, education and integrity
If ingredient information isn’t clearly provided, or a brand isn’t open about what goes into their formulas, it simply isn’t something we feel comfortable stocking.
